20th Anniversary Celebration
ImageAlbany Lodge celebrated its 20th Anniversary with a visit from Councillor Bob Chapman, Mayor of Bournemouth, and the Mayoress, Barbara Johnson. The 20 bedroom hotel situated close to the cliff top in Southbourne is owned and operated by the Macmillan Cancer Trust, based at Christchurch Hospital.  The hotel was the first hotel of its kind to offer holidays to cancer patients and their families or carers.

During his visit, Councillor Chapman met with trustees, hotel staff and some of the guests currently enjoying their stay at Albany Lodge.  Welcoming the Mayor and Mayoress, Chairman of the Trustees, Keith Lomas gave a brief history of Albany Lodge which opened in 1986 and is believed to be the only hotel of its type in the country.

Many guests commented that “they would not consider staying in an ordinary hotel but at Albany Lodge they felt safe and secure in the knowledge that professional advice is available at any time”.
